Interview with my 3-year old: Birthday Tradition

This weekend we reached yet another milestone and memorable moment, my munchkins 3rd birthday. Its funny that every year I’m surprised at how quickly his birthday approaches. I seriously can remember the day he was born as if it happened yesterday. I mean all the way down to what I had on upon entering the hospital (striped cardigan, jeans, ballet flats).

The last three years have been an awesome adventure to say the least. Don’t get me wrong, there have been days that I thought I’d never get through and days that I wished would never end. Motherhood is absolutely the most AMAZING experience that comes with good, bad and indifferent experiences that no doubt mold and shape you to be a better person. I accept my faults but know that to my son, I’m the best mom ever.

In an attempt to make time stand still and to remember this day/weekend forever, I decided to interview my little one on his special day. I actually cant take all the credit since I didnt come up with the idea myself, but had a little help from Pinterest and a survey his teacher conducted with his class this year. Anyway, I’m so glad that I did this because it is absolutely hilarious. To hear how innocent and candid kids can be at this age is priceless.

So here we go. Here’s a few Q & A’s from my exclusive interview with my tot:

Baby boy turns 3

Where do you live? Home

How old are you? Three

What’s your favorite food? Rice, spinach and sausage

What makes you happy? Football

What makes you sad? Get pow pow

Who’s your best friend? Wesley

What’s something mommy always says to you? Go to time out

What’s your favorite book? Not llama llama mad. I don’t want to read that book.

What do you like to do with daddy? Play with Jake matching game

What do you like to do with mommy? Play

This was such a great exercise and I will definitely continue to do this every year as a birthday tradition. I’ve probably watched the video 50 times already and it makes me laugh every single time. I absolutely love capturing special moments like this one that we can have for a lifetime.

Let me know if you try this with your tots. If you have any special traditions you do with your kids please feel free to share!
